On April 4, 2020 Jeremy Dewitte uploaded a photo to his Flickr account. The photo contains a framed picture of his wife Rania Dewitte, a masked Egyptian pharaoh, a pregnancy book and Islamic prayer beads.
In September 2018 Rania Dewitte uploaded a similar photo after a miscarriage. It was unclear if she suffered another miscarriage in April 2020.
On May 4, 2020 Jeremy Dewitte’s mother, Ursula Vogt-Dewitte, posted a photo of Rania Dewitte and another family member.
Rania Dewitte is pregnant and expecting a girl named Amira. The name Amira appears to be the feminine version of Amir. Amir Ladan is Jeremy Dewitte’s defense attorney.
On April 30, 2020 Assistant State Attorney Steven Casey Miller filed two amended witness lists. The first case involves a victim named Heather who was allegedly illegally recorded by Jeremy Dewitte and the second case involves Deputy Todd Mohney.
Jeremy Dewitte was charged with one count of falsely impersonating a police officer and three counts of unlawful interception of wire or oral communication in the former case, and he was charged with one count of impersonating a police officer and two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the latter case.
On May 4, 2020 Jeremy Dewitte’s defense attorney Amir Ladan filed an unopposed motion to continue the case involving the victim named Heather. Amir Ladan stated the case was still in the process of being transferred to Judge Renee Roche.
On May 5, 2020 two motions to transfer the cases involving the victim named Heather and Deputy Todd Mohney were granted.
Jeremy Dewitte’s trial date is still set for September 14, 2020.
